INSPIRATION
I’ll never forget the first precious gemstone I ever received. My birthday fell on Easter the year I turned 7. My mother gifted me with an Easter basket full of chocolates, candies, and one special gift; a delicate peekaboo sugar egg with little sugar flowers inside. Hidden inside that egg was a teeny, tiny, real, ruby ring. That ring made me feel so special.
Jewelry is a language. We use it to commemorate the moments we want to remember forever.
A quick glance at my simple golden wedding band can take me back to one of the best days of my life. A necklace from my Grandmother Lam reminds me of jewelry shopping with her on the streets of Hong Kong. Wearing a white gold ring from my Granny (yeah, I’m from Texas y’all) empowers me with her determination and zest for life.
A beautiful pair of emerald green earrings from my well-adorned Auntie reminds me that there’s aways room for one more piece of jewelry in your life. And the diamond earrings from my step-mom reminds me of her impeccable style. And that yes, you can wear diamonds with jeans…yes you can.
INFLUENCE
My expression of color and shape is often influenced by nature. A leaf blowing by at the park becomes a delicate necklace. That perfect, tiny branch found on my deck begs to be a ring and old childhood toys are transformed into modern day medallions.
